Hugh Dodd , the Scottish artist, illustrator and writer, grew up in the renowned golf country of Scotland's East Lothian coast. This stretch of land, spreading east from the capital city of Edinburgh is home to 21 golf courses including Muirfield, the world famous Open championship course (which will host the Senior British Open from July 26th - 29th 2007). This costal area also takes in the world's oldest course at Musselburgh Links (where hickory clubs are still used), to the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers at Muirfield, the oldest club in the world, formed in 1744.
