The town of Gullane, 15 miles east of Edinburgh, boasts three golf courses that run up and along the sides of Gullane Hill, each with different views of the Capital to the west, the flanking Firth of Forth, and the coast of Fife to the north. Two miles before, Gullane, lays the beautiful Aberlady Bay at the mouth of Luffness Castle: a natural bird sanctuary where thousand of geese from Scandinavia winter-over and where flocks of migratory and native wild fowl live and thrive. Looking towards the distant hill, the fairways of Gullane No 1 course can be seen: a well-loved course that acts as host to many local and national championships and is a qualifier for the Open.
